Moondrop Starfield 3

New on the Starfield 3, the cable takes a USB-C plug with a built-in sound card. Plug it into your PC or phone and it drives the earphones with up to 60 mW, no separate DAC needed. In the Moondrop app or on the web, you shape the sound with a 32-band equalizer, start from the original curve, or download settings shared by the community, including game presets that bring out footsteps and positioning. Your Sound Target ID then keeps your favorite tuning ready, even on your next Moondrop.

Each earpiece splits the work between two dynamic drivers. A 7.8 mm driver with a DLC diaphragm handles the treble, clean and extended, while a 10 mm driver with a wood diaphragm takes care of the bass, with depth and a warm timbre. Moondrop fine-tuned the pair on professional measurement gear for a natural sound, keeping distortion below 0.1%. In game, every sound keeps its place, even when the explosions pile up.

The Starfield 3 wears an iridescent faceplate that shifts between starry blue and violet with the light, inlaid with a gold-printed pattern and set on an anodized aluminium base. The medical-grade resin shell follows a shape refined over several generations, so it stays comfortable for hours on end. The OCC copper cable is wrapped in braided nylon, and its locking plugs swap between Jack 3.5mm, balanced Jack 4.4mm and USB-C in seconds.

Starfield is one of Moondrop’s longest-running dynamic driver lines, and this third generation marks its biggest change yet, moving to two drivers and adding the USB-C sound card. To build its complex inner acoustic structure, Moondrop teamed up with HeyGears, a specialist in high-precision 3D printing, so every pair comes out consistent. The result is a pair of hi-fi IEMs that serves your playlists and your matches alike.
