The barebone holds the chassis, the PCB and the electronics, with no switches or keycaps. That's what lets you choose your own typing feel instead of accepting the factory's. Budget for a switch set and a keycap set on top, or you won't be typing on it. A three-switch tester is included so you can get a feel before ordering.

This is the real break from a standard barebone. Keycaps, badge, rotary knob, top case, bottom case, gaskets, switch plate, switches and cable: every one of those nine parts comes off. The gasket dampeners swap by hand on a building-block system, taking the board from a firm typing feel to a flexible one. The aluminium plate it ships with trades out for other materials to change acoustics and tactile response. Screwdriver, spare screws and O-rings are all in the box.

Two dense foam layers absorb unwanted resonance and give a clean sound profile rather than the hollow clack of an empty case. The gasket mount isolates the plate from the chassis, softening vibration at the end of travel. Paired with the stock aluminium plate, that lands on a balanced typing feel and neutral acoustics, ready to shift with whatever parts you fit next.
