Your headset, keyboard and Wi-Fi all compete for the 2.4 GHz band, and that's where a wireless mouse can start dropping polling data. The Sensei Pro Mini skips it entirely and talks to its base station over Ultra Wideband, a band above 6 GHz that offers about 20 times the bandwidth, according to SteelSeries. Each report travels on its own for a true 8000 Hz, and 9K Over-Polling sends one extra packet every eight, so the signal reaching your PC never falls below 8K.

The TrueMove 42K Pro builds on a custom PixArt PAW3955 and covers 100 to 42,000 DPI in 1 DPI steps, so you set your exact sensitivity instead of the nearest preset. Max Performance mode keeps the sensor at its peak whatever your speed or DPI, with 20,000 FPS, 800 IPS and 70G. With SuperSync, you set the sensor report rate and the wireless polling rate independently, sending your game only the updates it actually uses while your clicks stay at 8K.

At 118 x 62.5 x 36.2 mm, the Mini tightens the symmetrical Sensei silhouette for fingertip and aggressive claw grip, where the movement comes more from your arm. It weighs barely 50 g, yet keeps everything the standard model carries, from the UWB link to the swappable batteries. Its matte, lightly textured finish already grips well, the included grip tape adds hold when you need it, and under the shell, 100% virgin PTFE feet leave room for 5 dot skate spots if you want to try another glide.

Under the main buttons, Steelseries optical switches read each press with light, with no metal contact to wear down into double-clicks. The Infinite Power System runs on two hot-swap batteries, one powering the mouse while the other charges on the base station, and a press and a twist swap them in a few seconds. Each lasts up to 16 h at 8K or 60 h at 1K, and the station's button with color LEDs cycles through sensor and polling presets without opening SteelSeries GG.
